4/26 PAQUAME RUINS

On the way out of Chuhuahua we stopped at Paquame, the ruins of an ancient city. Seems to have been occupied around the same time as Mesa Verde in Colorada, USA. This plaque shows the layout of a building in the shape of a cross, probably depicting the directions. This is the actual structure.

The doorways are similar to those in the southwest US ruins, keyhole shaped. Interesting!
The buildings were constructed of adobe, unlike most US ruins which were constructed of stone. It is amazing that any of the structures survived.
